Our Statement of Faith

Be Love Company affirms the historic Nicene Creed as our primary statement of faith. All orthodox streams of Christianity affirm this creed, which dates back to the 4th century. It is more than an intellectual checklist of doctrines. It is a confession of worship that forms us as the people of God and draws us together into the life of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

About God

There is one God, who is infinitely perfect, existing eternally in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Deuteronomy 6:4, Matthew 5:48, Matthew 28:19, 2 Corinthians 6:18

About Jesus

Jesus Christ is the true God and the true man. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He died upon the cross, the Just for the unjust, as a substitutionary sacrifice, and all who believe in Him are justified on the ground of His shed blood. He arose from the dead according to the Scriptures. He is now at the right hand of the Father. He will come again to establish His kingdom, righteousness, and peace.

Philippians 2:6-11, Luke 1:34-38, I Peter 3:18, Hebrews 2:9, Romans 5:9, Acts 2:23-24, Hebrews 8:1, Matthew 26:64

About Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is a divine person, sent to dwell, guide, teach, empower the believer, and convince the world of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment.

In the sanctifying power of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live holy and minister like Jesus did. The baptism of the Holy Spirit according to Acts 1:4-8 and 2:4 is poured out on believers that they might have power to be witnesses.

John 14:15-18, John 16:13, Acts 1:8, John 16:7-11, Acts 1:4-8, 2:4

About The Gifts of the Spirit

We believe that the Gifts of the Spirit are for believers and the church today.

I Cor. 12:1-11, Romans 12:3-8, Ephesians 4:7-16

About the Bible

We believe the Bible to be the inspired and only infallible and authoritative Word of God. The Bible, including both the Old and New Testaments, is a divine revelation, the original autographs of which were verbally inspired by the Holy Spirit.

2 Timothy 3:16, 2 Peter 1:21

About Salvation

Salvation has been provided through Jesus Christ for all men; and those who repent and believe in Him are born again of the Holy Spirit, receive the gift of eternal life, and become children of God.

Titus 3:4-7, John 3:16

Apostles Creed

I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.

I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; he descended to the dead. On the third day he rose again; he ascended into heaven, he is seated at the right hand of the Father, and he will come to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting.

Amen.

NICENE CREED

I believe in one God, the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and of all things visible and invisible.

And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of God, begotten of the Father before all worlds; God of God, Light of Light, very God of very God; begotten, not made, being of one substance with the Father, by whom all things were made.

Who, for us men for our salvation, came down from heaven, and was incarnate by the Holy Spirit of the virgin Mary, and was made man; and was crucified also for us under Pontius Pilate; He suffered and was buried; and the third day He rose again, according to the Scriptures; and ascended into heaven, and sits on the right hand of the Father; and He shall come again, with glory, to judge the quick and the dead; whose kingdom shall have no end.

I believe in the Holy Ghost, the Lord and Giver of Life; who proceedeth from the Father and the Son; who with the Father and the Son together is worshipped and glorified; who spoke by the prophets.

I believe in one holy and apostolic Church.

I acknowledge one baptism for the remission of sins; and I look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come.

Amen.
